It's certainly true that digital books are getting more widespread, but I still like paper books. I remember a study that I read in Entertainment Weekly reported that most readers still like paper books, if only to have a real book in their hands.
The lack of bookstores and marketing pushes for books, though, doesn't help any kinds of books' cause; this is probably likely due to the fact that most people would rather see/hear instead of sitting down and reading, but I can only speculate.
