Cliff Robertson (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-14869693) died Saturday, age 88.

Andy Whitfield (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-14878973) died Sunday, age 39.

Maybe not the most famous actors, but hard-working, nice guys I always enjoyed on screen.

At least Cliff Robertson had a good long life, with a lot of fine movie roles. My favorite movie of his is probably J.W. Coop (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067258/).

Whitfield had a big breakthrough role in Spartacus: Blood and Sand (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1442449/), but then had to drop out when he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was hoping he'd recover and go on to bigger and better things.

I'm unfamiliar with Whitfield's work, but his life was too short.

Robertson has been in any number of films I greatly admire, from Charley to Three Days of the Condor to PT-109. At least he got a good long run.

Both will be missed by family, friends, and fans. Peace to you, gentlemen, and to those you leave behind.
