O-kayyy....

For the first couple of paragraphs, I thought it was the author who was saying his fictional world was shit. To be honest, I would've found that more entertaining.

Still good though.

You know, when you interview an author about his world...what did the author of this piece expect?

What would have made this even funnier is if it ended with the author having spent all this time worldbuilding without even writing a single word of the novel.

But I've never met any authors like that, oh, no. Never. Not in the least.

I'm not laughing. Maybe Connor's Cove is a shitty universe - I haven't read Mulligan's book - but the author of The Onion piece is the asshole.

You know the piece is a joke, right? There is no such author, and the interview never happened. No real persons were harmed in the making of the article. :)

Hush, now. Half the fun of the Onion is people who don't realise the entire thing is made up.

I was imagining someone wrote about a world of poop.

I was intrigued.

Now I'm slightly disappointed.

Great idea for a kids' book though!!

*whispers* I didn't realise The Onion was all fake. I've never read any of their articles until now. I thought maybe they were kind of The Cynical Times or something, highlighting how some news stories just aren't important, or that you can't believe everything people say about themselves.

I think that would've been more interesting, but what do I know? I'm not a journalist.

Then again... They could be delivering the same brand of cynicism, but cutting out liability to others by making all the stories fake.

Hmm. Interesting.

*steals idea and calls it The Avocado*

About the only thing "real" about The Onion are its media reviews. The news and commentary? Pure satire.

Then again, Fox News had the same trouble.
