Jazz Witch Media Group Announces Launch of Online Publication: The Modern Witch Magazine

Jazz Witch Media Group is pleased to announce the launch of its flagship magazine, The Modern Witch in digital format. The inaugural issue will be available October 1, 2011 to coincide with the pagan holiday, Samhain.

The Modern Witch Magazine (www.themodernwitchmagazine.webs.com)will contain articles, essays, short stories and editorial stories featuring topics of interest to the pagan community and hints and tips to being a self-proclaimed witch in the modern world. The goal of the publication is to educate and entertain readers, as well as foster a sense of community among readers who might otherwise feel isolated in their beliefs.

The content for the digital magazine is created by its target audience, and offers readers and contributors alike, a chance to connect on a myriad of topics important to the wiccan/pagan community at no cost to the reader.

Currently, the following positions are available for the magazine

Advertising Director: Must have knowledge of how to foster relationships with potential advertisers in order to successfully generate revenue for the magazine operations.

Marketing Director: Must have a background in marketing with a track record of successful marketing campaigns. Must have a deep knowledge of social media, be able to write press releases.

Copy Editor: Must have excellent written English skills, including good spelling and grammar. Must have a meticulous approach and eye for detail, the ability to meet deadlines and still maintain a high quality of work. Must also have a good knowledge of AP style.

Contributors: The Modern Witch Magazine is looking for articles, essays, short stories and artwork from talented individuals who want to tell/show what it means to them to be a modern witch.

The current deadline for submissions for the inaugural issue is September 17, 2011, 9pm CST. All others received after this time will be considered for the November issue.

The layout of the flash-based digital magazine is modeled after the printed glossies that enjoy great popularity among readers, but also boasts interactive elements including hyperlinks and audio. Its digital page-flip technology is the perfect format for an audience that appreciates the visual eye-candy of flipping through magazines but is increasingly spending more time online.
