A couple of weeks ago I got my first blurb in from one of my favourite authors, and at the weekend I got the go-ahead to put it on my website:

http://www.nightsmasque.com

For anyone who's not heard of him, Mark Chadbourn is a fantasy author and BBC scriptwriter who writes awesome Elizabethan spy series "The Swords of Albion" (published by Pyr in the US and Bantam in the UK, and maybe soon to be a movie!). We met at a convention last year, and he was the first person I thought of when I was asked who should blurb my book.

I go all wibbly just thinking about it...

They did say they were looking for fantasy that would appeal to a female audience - and you can't go wrong with a hot guy with a big sword ;)

So is that a photograph or art?

Anne Lyle
08-12-2011, 06:53 PM
It's a photo, artfully manipulated. The artist, Larry Rostant, is a photographer first and foremost. He does a lot of fantasy and historical covers (and no doubt keeps Berman and Nathan's* very busy!)

Well, I can't say Mr Sexy does the same for me as he does for others but that's still a cracking cover. ;)

Looking forward to reading.

Thanks, Luke!

I think it covers both markets pretty well: eye-candy for the ladies*; big pointy weapons and a menacing attitude for the guys

* and some of the guys, too, tbh!

As long as there are big pointy weapons, then you can't go far wrong.
