View Full Version : Submitted the Letters...

I just submitted query letters to four agents for my first novel. It's been approximately five minutes and I have a feeling I'm going to be a nut for about eight weeks.

But I'm really excited. Between writing and revising I worked on the book for over eight months, and spent some quality time in QLH to sharpen the letter. I feel like I put out the best work I have right now, and I'm super hopeful. All four agents represent similar books to mine, so I'm hoping one of them will be interested! :)

Any advice for playing the waiting game?

The best advice is to start working on your next project. Congrats on sending out those letters!

Fingers crossed for you. :)

Exactly. That way, when you get an acceptance and the agent asks what else you're working on, you'll have plenty to say.

Same old, accurate advice: Start (or continue) writing your nexr book.

If you haven't already done so, make a list of all possible agents for your book, so you can query like an automaton, 3-5 letters a week, no matter how you may feel about the submission process. It can be a very long slog unless you're lucky enough to hit the right desk early.

And keep writing.
