I'm an English speaker who is fairly fluent in French.

But I have a problem.

I'd love to know how to spell the following name for a cat. Roughly translated into English, it means 'Fluffy' or 'Fuzzy'. It sounds like pwah-loo, as close as I can transcribe it. My memory insists it is spelled Poilu(e). The dictionary disagrees.

Help?

Like John, I have "poilu(e)" as meaning "hairy."

Fuzzy: Flou(e)

Furry: Peluche

Fluffy: Pelucheux(se)

I have a friend whose cat is named Peluche. I always assumed it meant fluffy...

Bonjour 'eveningsdawn' -

Je pense que vous pouver utiliser le nom 'Velu' pour votre chat poilu. C'est a dire en anglais "fuzzy" .
