I had heard about it and thought "but... How?" then I saw the trailer and it looks fun :D

The links to the game are tenuous at best though. Lol

I can't wait for "Trivial Pursuit: The Movie" ;)

I was hoping this was a joke. Then I saw that Asano Tadanobu is in it. That makes it ok enough to exist, I guess.

Still, I'm calling The Producers-esque hijinks on this one.

I saw the trailer and sneered my way through it and then remembered that I love the movie "Clue" from years ago. Doesn't mean I will give this a try, but I'm actually surprised we've only seen two board game movies in the last 25 years or so.

This needs to have some kind of drinking game associated with it...

Every time they say "sunk"? "battleship?"

And when they say "you sank my battleship" everyone has to shotgun a beer.

But at least with Clue, it wasn't too much of a stretch to come up with a plot.

And according to this article from 2008, we can expect even more board-games-and-toys-to-movie adaptations. Lord help us all.

(Sweet bloody Jeebus. STRETCH ARMSTRONG?! STARRING TAYLOR "LOOKIT MY ABS!" LAUTNER?!)

Occasionally, they do change the name of the movie after filming it and just before release...

So I'm not the only one who saw that and thought of Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots.

There's actually nothing wrong with the premise (which you'll remember from the 1963 Twilight Zone episode "Steel", starring Lee Marvin and adapted by Richard Matheson from his short story). But one of the trailers I saw had an uber-annoying little kid. Yes, somebody decided that what this story needed was for the protagonist to reconnect with his estranged child.

Yeah, it's actually based on Matheson's short: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Steel

There was also an anime series from Japan with a similar theme, except the 'bots were only about two feet high. I've only seen the first episode and this was about 30 years ago, so I can't think of the title off hand.

There was indeed a new longer trailer showing before Captain America. It stopped just short of having the kid scream: "Over the top, Dad! Over the top!"

I'm buying that album now that I saw the first link

When I heard about battleshit the movie I laughed. When I saw the trailer I was confused. I don't remember aliens being the enemy

My mom points out that they DID make a good movie out of Pirate's of the Caribbean.

You can make a good movie out of anything.

What confuses me is the fact that it's about aliens at all. I mean, what? A naval engagement isn't exciting enough?
