Kansas! Again.
As a male, I don't feel comfortable writing from the perspective of a boulevard or an avenue, even though it's trendy and I really, really want to.

Are there are pitfalls or potholes I should be aware of when I write my first "street story?"

Well you have to be careful, because if you don't have a clear view of where you're going you could easily get into an accident. So follow the right directions and don't turn onto a tangent else you should wreck the whole thing. I also suggest avoiding cliffhangers.

I would be a hidden drive. Be careful when you're pulling out!

I've no problem with guys writing about streets or even bipasses, but you have to be extra careful writing about trains.
