mkcbunny says she's run out of material, so I'll provide a shameless imitation.

Yesterday a lady priest was spotted in our neighborhood. This has never happened before. The police were called, but there was nothing they could do. The shy lady took four athletes from a battle and was last seen making love.

"Spotted," "neighborhood," and "flying away" are correct.

I made it too easy, didn't I?

Yesterday a wild parrot was spotted in our neighborhood. This has never happened before. The police were called, but there was nothing they could do. The sly bird took four children from a puddle and was last seen flying away.

One point for "bird," if vBulletin would let me give you another point.

As it now stands:

Yesterday a xxxx xxxxxx was spotted in our neighborhood. This has never happened before. The police were called, but there was nothing they could do. The xxx bird took xxxx xxxxxxxx from a xxxxxx and was last seen flying away.

Neighborhood is usually spelled like this in America and with a u - neighbourhood in England and Europe
And Canada. I'm sure reph knew I was only teasing. I was very relieved that she got "spell-cheque" right.

poetinahat has supplied three more words:

Yesterday a xxxx turkey was spotted in our neighborhood. This has never happened before. The police were called, but there was nothing they could do. The big bird took some xxxxxxxx from a xxxxxx and was last seen flying away.

You guys are so clever! Next time I'll use x's for all the words.

That four-letter word near the beginning should be easy.

Oh, that's good. I wanted to say "bald eagle," but there weren't enough "x"s.

Would you call the police about a turkey? That's what led me to the cougar. California and all. We're overflowing with attack cougars out here, you know.

It may have been, but that isn't the word.

Somebody called the police, possibly out of concern for the turkey, which might have got run over, or to ask whether one had been reported lost. It would be a matter for Animal Control, which is part of the police department here. My husband read about the episode on a local Yahoo list.

I bet that's it:

male turkey
birdseed from a feeder

But if poetinahat is correct, then maybe it's:
zucchini from a garden

Nah. I can't see a turkey eating a zucchini.

brinkett and mkcbunny have filled in two more gaps.

Yesterday a xxxx turkey was spotted in our neighborhood. This has never happened before. The police were called, but there was nothing they could do. The big bird took some birdseed from a feeder and was last seen flying away.

It wasn't a lost turkey?

Well, it was, but I mean you have another adjective in mind?
