Neighborhood is usually spelled like this in America and with a u - neighbourhood in England and Europe

It may have been, but that isn't the word.

Somebody called the police, possibly out of concern for the turkey, which might have got run over, or to ask whether one had been reported lost. It would be a matter for Animal Control, which is part of the police department here. My husband read about the episode on a local Yahoo list.
