And I decided to test my new mad skillz on a flash banner. It's only 50-something k in size. Please let me know if it works for you:

http://blog.myspace.com/shiveredsky <---- that's the actual size

http://www.mattdinniman.com/banner.swf <----- there's the file (right click save as if you want it.) You can also click on it if you want to see a larger version.

Maybe it's good to have some instructions for those who are not technically inclined on how to include the swf file in their websites, blogs, etc.

Recommended site for you: http://www.cartoonsmart.com. Excellent video tutorials on a wide range of subjects. Flash is a ***** of a platform that will happily lead you down totally the wrong route - these are enjoyable, watchable, and above all project-focused tutes to give you a better idea of how it all works.

That's an awesome site, Richard. Thanks!

If you want to add it to your site or blog, you can use this code (I think it will work):

Feel free to steal my bandwidth as long as you don't put it on some site with a gazillion hits a day. I get unlimited traffic.

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.mattdinniman.com/banner.swf" width="468" height="60">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.mattdinniman.com/banner.swf">
</object>
