What food takes complete control of you, overwhelms your self-control and turns you into its helpless slave, pushing bite after bite into your mouth until it's gone or you're close to being wheeled out of the room by paramedics?

For me: pasta in almost any form but especially if elbow macaroni with cheese and smoked meats are involved, pizza, fried chicken, sausage, bacon, and ham.

Hmm. I don't tend to eat any one food to the extent you describe, but I have found that it is actually possible to overdose on chocolate. Not easy. But possible.

Bacon and home-grown tomato sandwiches made on fresh-out-of-the-oven-homemade bread.

Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, fresh corn-on-the-cob, green onions and homemade hot rolls.

Big, puffy, tender fresh-outta-the-oven homemade cinnamon rolls with raisins and pecans and cream cheese frosting.

Can you tell I've been on a diet since January 10? :drool

hummus/houmus/homous depending on the spelling. I've seen it spelled all three ways on pots and more, and every spelling is DLEICIOUS.

Especially keen on some of the fun little variations, like hummus with a dollop of chilli salsa, hummus with jalepeno, hummus and pesto...

What Cray said ... BUT

not just any pizza but a pepperoni and sausage pizza from Vincents, Ardmore Boulevard, Pgh. The large pizzas are as big as manhole covers and I could eat them until I burst.

Also, potatoes. Mashed potatoes in butter with haggis. Mashed potatoes with liver and bacon and onions. Roast tatties with stuffing and redcurrant jam. Baked potatoes with really overdone, blackened skin and grated cheddar.
