L'Allure des Mots (www.lalluredesmots.com) is an online bi-monthly magazine seeking submissions! We are looking for short stories, flash fiction and poetry in various genres. Bizarre, surreal, drug-addled, raw, sexy, beautiful, sensual. Make it interesting. Make us feel something. Please send your work in the body of your email and include a short bio. Send to submissions-authors @ lalluredesmots.com (and don't forget to remove the spaces!). For more information, please visit http://www.lalluredesmots.com/submissions.html

Hey everyone,

We've got some great submissions so far, but we still have room for more for the October issue. Deadline is the 15th of this month. See the description above for the type of work we're looking for.

Thanks!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween!

There's only one month left 'til the next issue comes out. I know it's NaNoWriMo time so a lot of you might be busy with this, but if you have some new short fiction or poetry, we'd love to see it. :)

Looking forward to your submissions!

I love L'Allure des Mots. Your interface is great, the stories that get in the 'zine are artistically beautiful. The only thing that prevents me from submitting to you is that you are not a valid publishing credit, which is a major turn off.

I feel a bit uninformed, now. What is a "valid publishing credit"? I looked online, but all I could find was vague statements about work that has passed a submission/rejection process (ie, not self-pubbed). Wouldn't L'Allure des Mots be covered under that, or is there more to it?

I was going to ask the same thing. Is it because we're online only? I'm sincerely asking, as we do hope to be in print someday, but right now that's too expensive for us.

And by the way Deizelcore, thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the magazine!

It's a combination of factors. Being a non-paying market is one, being relatively unknown is another.

Hi everyone!

We're looking for submissions for our first issue in print! Well, if all goes well with our IndieGoGo campaign it will be in print, and continuing in print from there. Looking for poetry, flash fiction, and short stories. You can read more about exactly what we're looking for here...

...or in the first post of this thread. It also might be good to read some of what's been published in past issues (all issues to date are here: http://www.lalluredesmots.com/all_issues.html )

Deadline is October 1st.

Thanks! Looking forward to reading your work.

Hey all,

I just wanted to announce that L'Allure des Mots has now gone print! Because of this, we're looking for submissions sooner than before. We just released issue 8 (the first print issue), but we're already looking for submissions for issue 9 and beyond. Poetry, flash fiction, short stories. All our submissions guidelines are in the following link and in the first post of this thread: http://www.lalluredesmots.com/submissions.html

Deadline is currently set for January 1st for the next issue, but we're considering bumping that up one week before then. Either way, the sooner, the better.

Thanks!

Now that you guys are selling printed editions, are the writers going to make any money?
