I'm making snap peapods for dinner, steamed 3-4 minutes, then a bit of lemon and butter swirled in once they're drained. Easy, delicious.

I'm not familiar with courgettes. Do they have a different name in the US, do you know?

I'd dry many of the spices for use in baking and stews which seem too heavy this time of year.

Yup, the beloved zuke! I know a zucchini joke, let me think a minute.

A gardener's zucchini crop, always abundant, provides her with so much more than she can use that she routinely give them away to neighbors as a gesture of good will. One year, the crop is even larger than usual.

Instead of taking four zucchinis to each neighbor as usual, she fills a bushel basket and goes to the first house. She sets down her basket and rings the doorbell. By the time her neighbor answers, she has the usual four zucchinis in her hands to present to the neighbor.

"Oh, my. Four. Thank you."

"It's been a great year for zukes." The gardener gestured at her bushel basket, still brimming. "Take as many as you want."

The neighbor put three back and softly closed the door.
