In a previous thread (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213122), I posted about a need for a writer to pen a YA novel series that further expands on the world introduced in our graphic novel (http://www.chronicargonauts.com). After further discussing with my agent today, we have decided to take this project in a different direction. We will now be targetting a direct adaptation of our graphic novel for the adult sci-fi novel genre, with an eye towards a series.

The graphic novel, The Chronic Argonauts, is adapted from and continues the short story of the same name by H.G. Wells. Wells' story is considered to be the first well-developed use of a 'time machine' in science fiction, as it predates his more famous time traveling novel, The Time Machine, by seven years. To find out more about our version, please head to http://www.chronicargonauts.com.

Someone who has had a novel published before, preferrably in the sci-fi or fantasy genres, and has experience with licensed or adapted material would be ideal. Compensation in the form of a flat rate and/or royalties can be discussed. Please contact me at eric@newbabyproductions.com.

Eric,

Are you still looking for an author for this? I know people in the media tie-in market (IAMTW.org) that I could forward this post to, if you want.

Thanks Brandie. I am still looking and would greatly appreciate anything you could do to get the word out.

I'd apply myself if it weren't for the novel requirement. Got the short stories / novelette. Not an actual novel, though.

Self-published authors are not preferred.

and is this open for international authors?
International authors are fine as long as English is their first language.
