Is there a Grand Funk Railroad museum? If not, there should be, 'cause they were a hugely popular band when I was in junior high school. If I remember correctly, the band was formed in Flint.

Nothing. It's the armpit of Michigan.

Drive a couple of hours in any direction to find something to do. Sorry.

You can go see the Ruins
Detroit?

You don't need to go to Detroit to see ruins. Flint has plenty of its own.

Yeah, Flint got sucked into the black hole before Detroit did. Detroit just made a bigger impact when it went in.

There used to be an auto museum there. The... Sloan?

ETA: Yeah, sort of. SloanLongway (http://www.sloanlongway.org/SloanMuseum.aspx)

Not the one I'm remembering, but still.

My sister-in-law lives about twenty minutes from the airport in Flint. I'll ask her if she'd mind if you stop by for a visit. Maybe she'll agree to take you on a tour of the Koegel hot dog factory nearby...

Cower in your hotel room and cry like a baby if anyone knocks on your door.

Maybe Fred Flintstone lives there?

Fred lives in the town of Bedrock. Maybe Flint is nearby, a short drive away...

Well, I'm really excited about the trip now...

But here's something interesting: Tim Thomas--goalie of Boston--is from Flint. Maybe I'll get to see the Stanley Cup...

You could always drive to Grand Rapids and see the Gerald R. Ford presidential museum.

So. I'm sure everyone has been breathlessly awaiting to hear what I did in Flint...

Dropped my daughter off at her summer ballet program. Helped her set up her room. Walked around the campus with her. Then went back to the hotel. Took a jog around the property. Ate dinner. Watched Law and Order. Went home.

Awesome.

That's the other thing I was going to suggest.

That's the other thing I was going to suggest.
Me too. Except for the jogging thing.

That's about as awesome as one can hope for, I'm afraid.
