HEY! Your writing sounds like...

Several of my Beta's say my style resembles and early Robert Jordan.

Me, I am not sure who I write like as I try to just write what feels right...

My gram thinks I write like Nora Roberts sometimes. Which would make sense, consdering basically all I read is Nora Roberts, lol. But I also read other books. I think my writing is different, but it definately has aspects where it's the same style as Nora Roberts.

I've gotten everything from Hemingway to Hawthorne to Palahniuk, depending on the sample. I think it's all bunk but it's still fun.

As to actually writing like anyone, I have no clue. I haven't shared with enough people to earn a comparison

I have gotten comments that I am embarrassed to admit thrill me to no end I won't say who the authors are, though. Then I'd have to really live up to it! That could present a problem

I haven't even read two of them, so that makes me even more giddy

Once upon a time in attempts to write long, long, ago...

I used to write like who I was reading, it took me about a year to knock that off! =) Now, I write like me.

I probably write like Douglas Adams just a little bit. He's my favourite author.

But I've never had someone tell me, "Oh, you write just like..."

Then again, I don't really share my writing with people.

Well, it's mostly just my first book series that is Adams-esque. Well, it's comedic urban fantasy, not sci-fi, but still...

And I'm not sure how much like his writing it is. Perhaps just a similar sense of humour?

Anne McCaffrey and Katherine Kurtz, but that was a while ago. I never understood it, especially since I've never read Kurtz.

It just told me I write like Dan Brown. Considering I;ve read very little of Brown's work, and I hated what I did read, I sincerely hope not.

One of my crits I got back for one of my pieces started with the statement: this reads exactly like Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams. However, I think it was because I was attempting comedy and was using the 'dry British wit' style of comedy.

I am still waiting for the judges to rule on my sentence for that trangression. Anyone know what the current prison term is for 'Attempted comedy'?

I've had a Terry Pratchett and a Douglas Adams. I believe neither, but it's nice to hear regardless.

I've been compared to two authors that I can think of; one was Douglas Adams, after I wrote a complaint letter. Yes, really. An employee phoned me up to discuss the matter and said my letter was so funny that he called over his colleagues to read my email too; apparently he was crying with laughter and said, "This woman's got to be a writer."

The other author I've been compared to is someone so stupendously brilliant I don't even feel worthy to repeat their name for fear of people going, "Oh yeah, right, Scarlett. Piss off, there's a good lass."

I got "You write Douglas Adams" so often I had to adjust my style. (Not that I don't love Adams, but - I want to be Aidan, not Adams.)

That's based on the opening scene from my first published short story. I suppose it means I am cryptic and have a tendency to insert really wierd word combinations into the middle of what should be logical sequences (seriously, my wife did a Shakespeare reading at a friend's wedding recently... it was a real tongue twister with nonsensical words in the middle of it... like compass sickle come...)

Nobody has compared my writing to anybody's writing yet. Hmm. *shrug*
