After months of sleeping like the dead, last night I didn't sleep at all (I was thinking about plots and stories, and one of my poor characters, bless his cottons, breaks my heart, that he does). My skin feels all jittery. My fingers feel like a mild electrical current is being applied at regular intervals. Which is weirdly pleasant.

It'sa coming. The manic bit*.

WARNING!!

Also, this does not bode well for the serious, intelligent and mature conversation I need to have with the VAT people later.

WIBBLE!!

*May include a nut, a constant stream of Red Dwarf, Pratchett and Monty Python quotes, and random MEEPS! Buggrit, I told 'em, yes I did, millenium hand and shrimp!

I love the mania when I don't get myself in trouble...

*Snort* I hear you. I'm better now I have the Old Man to say 'Yes, well emigrating to Bulgaria would be fun, but, um, probably not practical'

I tend to get in more trouble when I'm on a downer (because I tend to be that bit more divorced from reality.) My manics, I get all silly and fluffy.

Did 60 pages of edits of pirate WIP
Had lots of funky ideas for character who tormented my sleep last night (oooOoooOo)
Had plot bunnies for two new novels.
3 loads of washing
repaired three kitchen doors
Booked tickets to Bulgaria (You and me Kelly. We leave on Monday, kk?)
Fixed the satellite dish
Kicked Space Marine butt.
Threatened to kiss my son in public unless he tidied his room. (Works every time hehehehe)

Mild electric thingy spreading. It really is very pleasant....Kind of like all over butterflies in the tummy. MADE IT MA! TOP OF THE WORLD!

If we're talkin' "for reals" here and not just tongue in cheek...

Hmmm...thank god I never get truly "manic". The depression keeps that in balance. (yay) More like "hyopmania" (lower level of mania, slightly more functional).

Some racing thoughts, more energy, all of that yes, but not quite so severe.

Getting a regular sleep schedule is so important. So very, very important.

Some folks like the mania. It does snap you out of the funk, but the higher it goes, the harder you crash later. That, I don't like. At all.

Prefer to keep try and keep things as "level" as possible. That means... No drinking, no drugs (except for the kind you might take from your doc obviously), get enough sleep, etc.
