is going back to the vet today

Congestive heart failure and he's begun to struggle a bit. We're hoping there might be a new drug we haven't tried yet. Wish us luck!

We're back. Vet says Charlie is gorgeous and lovely and still very happy but there's nothing he can really do because of the heart thing. Probably won't see the winter out (it's freezing down here) - but I was really glad to see that Charlie remembered the vet and trusted him because that will make it much easier for him When The Time Comes.

And after that, I'm sticking with goldfish. Stuffed ones.

Poor pup. Thanks for all the well-wishes.

I love Charlie and I've never even met him. But every time I see his picture in your avatar, I think how sweet and cuddly he is.

The only thing worse than losing a beloved pet is living your life without the joy that comes from loving a pet. You have given him a good life and loving home. At the end of the day, that's what counts.

Haggis is so right.

Charlie doesn't know he has heart trouble. Charlie only knows he loves you and he's with you and it's 'now'. He doesn't worry about tomorrow... as long as you're in it, he's happy.

Enjoy it with him and when the time comes, let him go... and get another fur baby to help you through it. They only hurt us when they leave, but the time from their coming into our lives 'til they exit is SO worth the pain.
