View Full Version : Tree falls in forest

I today submitted a full novel manuscript to a well-regarded small press. It is a cold submission, not solicited, but they permit that.

I won't know about it for some time, according to the information I can get about them. So: Does this constitute an "accomplishment"?

Or, as the cliché goes, if a tree falls in the forest, and no one hears, is there a noise?

Hey, it's a submission, Blac - and I know you've had some struggles just bringing yourself back to a place of being willing to put a sub out into the world.

So yes. It's an accomplishment. Congratulations.

Considering this is something you've struggled with, of course it's an accomplishment. Congratulations!

Well done, the Bird!!!! Major accomplishment!

An accomplishment is anything you determine it to be. If it feels good, celebrate!
GL with your submission.

I think it's brilliant. Submitting is some scary sh*t, especially when you've been feeling down about the whole business - but it's the right step on the right road. I don't know if you ever come to London but if you do, I'll buy you a drink too: if not, have one on me, and a virtual back-pat, too.

Nice going, and congratulations on finishing. Are you going to wait to hear back or send out to more places?

05-11-2011, 05:53 PM
It's an accomplishment for anyone to take that chance.

CGs and hoping for a big YES for you!

And don't be anthropocentric -- squirrels hear every tree that falls and discuss it ad nauseum in their blogs.

Wishing you the very best of luck to cross the path of your huge effort and considerable talent.

Are you going to wait to hear back or send out to more places?

Not right away, at least. I'm going to be gone for a couple of weeks beginning Friday.

But thanks, everybody, for the kind comments.
