I've watched a couple of the Three Wishes show with Amy Grant. And it got me to thinking:

If you could have just one wish, what would it be?

If a geanie in a bottle approached you and said he'd grant one wish for you, what would it be? Would it be for yourself or for a loved one. You can only have one. No wishing for more wishes.

I'd wish for the genie to turn me into a genie so I could grant other people their wishes. It's nice to be a good deed doer.

For myself and my husband to live for at least 60 more years together. Everything else I can get on my own with hard work, focus, and dedication.

MONEY, and I'll tell you why: I have everything else I want.

(How's THAT for superficial?)

I agree. The winning lotto numbers. WHY? I have the great hubby, house, and kid now I just need to PAY for it all. hahaha. OR maybe I'd wish for a freakin agent.

You know, sc, my motives are not entirely selfless.

If I asked the genie to turn me into a genie, not only could I grant other people's wishes, I could grant my own, too!! Just a little blink....

Chinese curse: May you always get what you wish for...

My wish would be for the genie to just go away.

But what if that genie was wearing an almost-nothing, see-through genie wear? Would you still wish for HER to go away?

Peace in space.....peace on earth doesn't seem to be working.

I'd wish for JK Rowling to die. Not that I don't absolutely love her, and also her books... I'd just want to see how everyone freaks out when the seventh book is deemed never-releasable. A-hahaha. Hahah. Hah.

You. Are. So. Weird.

I'd wish for good health, culminating in my peaceful death in my sleep a long, long time from now.

the first things that rush to mid are money and a publisher for my book... but I think I'd rather that a publisher chose my book rather than being forced to take it because of a genie's comand. So, I think I'd wish for wisdom too - it's a good wish.

My very first thought startled me (OMG, I'm thinking!)--because it wasn't about me. I have everything I need and much of what I want.

I wish for world peace for all time. Imagine the changes if all the efforts all nations expended on war were to go toward something else.

Of course, that's only if I expect my wish to come true. If we're doing regular-level wishes like blowing out my birthday candles or the wish bite, my first thoughts are downright base.

Maryn, not all that altruistic

See, this is when it's really groovy to be a witch. We have learned...most of us, the HARD way...to be very very very careful what we "will" for.

Bah! Think how many shining, happy moments are brought to you by the kind folks at Haskins, Inc. That's just plain selfish! *grin*

And deny us all the pleasure of knowing you? No way!

I think William is fooling us. What would AW and the world be without him?

10-28-2005, 02:08 AM
I would wish for three more wishes.

10-28-2005, 02:28 AM
I'd wish that all the loved ones that have passed on, would come back and never go away again.

I'm afraid of genies. When you wish for money, your father dies, leaving you an inheritance. When you wish for world peace, WWIII levels the planet, leaving the world in peace. You wish for a long life, and you wind up buried underground for eternity. It's like a Twilight Zone episode.

Just one? What a cheapskate Genie!

After my wife battled cancer, and later a severe blood infection brought on by a contaminated heart catheter, my wish would be that she never have to suffer another debilitating illness ever again.

Don't worry, she's fine now. Out & about, raising hell.

My one wish? Hmmm, since there'd only be one, it'd have to be a good one.

I suppose my one wish would be to have the ability to have a positive impact on any person's life with but a touch or a word.

In essence, to be like a lever - prying the ball that is their will and setting it rolling down the hill of life, trampling through every obstacle - unstoppable, unavoidable, inevitable - until they crashed in a glorious crescendo of fulfilled hopes and realized dreams.
