This is awesome. I actually studied this stuff once upon a time. I've even met Penrose (had a fantastic conversation about decoherence--completely unrelated to this). I think there's some youtube simulations on what things look like when you move at relativistic speeds. If I wasn't lazy, I'd dig it up. If I get not lazy later, maybe I still will.

Yeah, circa 1960 is a kind of REM sleep of the sciences. IT's all there about to happen (black holes, the big bang, continental drift, the Cambrian Explosion etc. etc.).

This article though is very cool. Victor Weisskopf!!! Who knew?

The mathematics of that is beyond my abilities, but all that in only 4 pages! Beauty is always simplistic, even when it's intricate.
