Today is National Glazed Spiral Ham Day (http://gardencountycooking.blogspot.com/2011/04/national-glazed-spiral-ham-day.html). I kid you not.

What will they think of next? (What other silly days have the marketing boards of the world declared?)

Well they tried National Spiraled Turkey Day, but the turkey got sick and spit up.

Added to the ever-growing list of Things I Don't Celebrate! Before Easter, after my birthday. I do love an orderly list.

Must the ham be spiraled and glazed? No cold cuts or anything?

Nope. Has to be sprialed and glazed. :D

ETA: Found another good one (http://www.popsci.com/scitech/article/2009-04/happy-hairball-awareness-day). :tongue

I'm waiting for the National 'bunking off work and laying in bed, eating Tirimasu with a long spoon' day.

Did you hear the Pork Producers' marketing slogan has changed from The Other White Meat to Be Inspired.

Be inspired by pork? Seriously?

Boy, talk about a missed marketing opportunity. I totally would have changed the slogan to You Had Me At "Bacon."

Happens weekly. I call it "Saturday." :D

Want to know what's really sad? Yesterday, I couldn't help myself. I went to the grocery store and...

... bought a ham.

:D

I'm sorry but...no.

Every cat owners knows Hairball Awareness Day is every freaking day. How else can one avoid squishing in one of the delightful little oozy piles of muck harfed all over the floors.

We need a "Writers Appreciation Day" when every serious author gets a chance to be published. I recommend April 1.
