That's great news. The experience will change you forever, mostly for the better.

If you can, while your mate is with child, try not to say, "We're pregnant." I hear men say that sometimes, and it drives me nuts, despite the cutesy factor.

Best of luck to you and your growing family.

Ditto on the 'we're pregnant' line. Makes me want to punch the guy in the face. :D

Congratulations! Being a parent is seriously awesome in every way. Just know that you will have to survive about 3-6 months of sleepless hell at the outset. It will get better, I promise. :D

Very exciting. Don't let people scare you with all the bad stuff about child raising. It's mostly true, but the good stuff outweighs it. I love hanging out with my kids. Best wishes for a happy, healthy baby.

if its a girl what do you guys think of the name Amethyst? We want something original whether if its a girl or a boy. I think we have settled on Daegan Alexander if its a boy. I kinda like the middle name Miracle if its a girl because after all we have been through to have it the baby will definetly be a miracle.

Congrats man! Parenthood is a wonderful, tiring, disgusting, beautiful, exciting, fun thing.
If it's a girl, it has to be Melinda, right?!?

Edit: Scrap that name thing. Didn't see the post just above. D'oh!

ok so turns out my wife doesnt like Miracle as a middle name for Amethyst. Anyone know of any good unique names that would fit well with it?

ok so turns out my wife doesnt like Miracle as a middle name for Amethyst. Anyone know of any good unique names that would fit well with it?I like Amethyst. I'd pair it with a single-syllable middle name.

Congratulations. I wish you and your wife a boring pregnancy and a happy baby.

Wonderful news, Morningrise! Hmm, a middle name for Amethyst...Rose? Too old fashioned? Yeah, my kids are Anna Victoria, Maggie Renee, and Ben Christopher. I lean toward older names. Um, Dawn, Faith, Corrine, Lake, Summer, Dale....nuts, I'm no help. Amethyst is hard, bud. I wish you and your wife a breezy pregnancy and a happy, healthy child.

Love the name Amethyst for a girl. Someone said "Dawn" as a middle name, and putting them together sounds nice. Did you try that combo with your wife?

Congratulations to both of you. I wish you and your family the best. :)

Some more good news. Today ends the first trimester so the worst part is hopefully over. We go for an ultrasound later and if we can get a picture this time I will show everyone.
