I went to the writers group - and the group was no longer in existence.

Head this way if you're in need of a group hug :Hug2:

It'll be a bit of travel, but you're welcome to join my group. Be here tomorrow at 2:00.

Such blatant advertising deserves a big hug :e2arms:

Huh?

* Wondering if Cray is reprimanding us or if this is his version of a hug? *

Silly me.

The poor dear (Cray) has no hands...He's incapable of hugging. :Hug2:

Doing better than I did! I went to the local writer's group meeting... and they disbanded that night.
Not kidding.

I'm still laughing about it! =)

Believe it or not...

When we got there, the host was so drunk he couldn't stand up, and after the meeting no one else in the group was willing to offer a new place to meet.

It had nothing to do with me (except for that whole "You aren't allowed to join society, but you can observe it" mantra memorized from my childhood that has been my ruin.)

Are you sure you didn't walk into an AA meeting? :D

I have a feeling Kelly's experience would be similar to mine if we had a group.

I need hugs because there isn't a writer's group within an hour's drive :Hug2:

I just feel like giving hugs lately to those who need them.

I'll take all I can get. I have major depression, and although I am feeling better overall, I've had a bad week. But, I have a writer's group I'm attending on Wednesdays. Can't wait; it's the highlight of my week.

I got all sorts of excited when you said that... until I realized that it's the same time as the weekly edit meeting at work.

I've been there. I hope your bad patch is over soon. Enjoy the group today.

You all should be reminded that it's not that hard to start up your own writers' group. That's what we did. If anyone would like more information on how we did it and/or on how it operates (19 years with only one major problem in all that time), let me know and I'll start a thread about it.

sf.writer.mdk, one of the half-joking replies I got to my invitation to join my group was from someone else in your city. Just so your group knows, if it's seeking to expand, there are people out there who want in.

I think that'd make for an interesting thread, Maryn. I don't think it's for me (I'm not experienced enough to lead a group in writing) but it might help others.
