hey folks.

Not sure where to post this, so I just plunked it down here.

My second book comes out soon, and I've got some world-class jitters. I'm confident in the book, but I'm still new to the publishing game. So I worry. Thankfully, it hasn't paralyzed my writing on the next book, which is something to be thankful for, I guess.

Anyone else dealing with (self-imposed) expectations?

Oh, hell yes. I'm self-pubbed so in effect my books go out one at a time. I can imagine it's even worse with thousands of printed books going out all at once.

I used to be involved in the computer game business (as a game designer) and then the big worry was bugs and glitches. That experience prepared me well to handle this, I think. You could never test enough to catch them all -- just as you can never re-write enough to be fully satisfied. Just gotta let it go, I guess.

Good luck on book no. 2!
