Hello. I'm F_R (oh so mysterious).
I just started trying to get my book published, and someone told me to start here for networking on the subject.
My book is basically a big book of philosophical and metaphysical musings of mine over the past five years. I figure my main selling point is that I'm 17 and I think I covered all the main intellectual "stages" (as far as questioning the universe goes), so I figure my sales pitch will be something like a "personfication of humanity (as far as questioning the universe goes)" and a quest for "sense" from an innocently confused and overwhelmed standpoint. It'll probably end with a conclusion that we don't know anything, that we're all together in that regard, and to calm down (in a philosphical sense). My idea is to be groundbreaking and revolutionary (as far as questioning the universe goes/in a philosphical sense) and to be able to empathize with people (as far as being overwhelmed by life goes).
So yeah, that's my story. I know I just started and I hardly even have started to get my sea-legs in these matters (and I have a feeling that what I'm about to ask will clearly demonstrate that), but if anyone knows of an agent/agency that seems to want/accept what I described my work to be, I would love to hear from you ;)
But anyway. I'm quite excited to get going with my book. I love writing very much, and I can't even begin to imagine having this all work out and be able to do that as a "career". It's nice to be among my kind (as far as loving writing goes), and I look forward to talking to/meeting you all.

Welcome to the 'Cooler F_R.

There's much to see, learn and share here.

Read the Newbie Guide (link at the bottom of this post), and the stickies at the top of each forum. The obvious questions are answered there, along with a lot of insider info that will help you get some of the ongoing jokes and such.

Up front, best advice I can give you is this: have patience with yourself, and the others you meet here. Assume good intentions. Holler at a Mod if you have any problems.

Welcome!

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.
