So there i was, looking at the breakfast before me, in complete and utter reverence of the meal i was about to partake.

And then my mind started, when it should, of course, been my stomach.

And i asked myself.... which is the higher power?
Is it the bacon, the eggs, or the hashbrowns....

Omigod how can i ever enjoy breakfast again...

With many laments....

Robin

Don't forget good quality fried black pudding.

...sausages, mushrooms, baked beans... yaaargh!

It's just past my breakfast time here in England and I had wholemeal toast, Bertolli light and marmite. Now I am thinking of a full fried breakfast. It doesn't help.

I was once serve Hash Browns with the face of Ozzie Osbourne burnt into them. But that would be bad, right?

Well, the pig has made more of a commitment than the chicken, so you have to respect the bacon for that.

Mmmm... eggs, bacon, hash brown, black pudding, toast and mushrooms fried off in the bacon fat.

Don't know which is the higher power, but I would point out that extra-crispy streaky bacon is the most superior of all pig products (bar perfect crackling). Possibly all meat products altogether, but then I wouldn't want to discount double-fried fat-streaked lamb.

Oh, now we're talking higher power.

Amazing! A thread on the ANTSW forum, and no theists have bothered to turn up to run interference.

Perhaps somebody should start a sort of pheromone thread to keep them busy so we can have grown up discussions. How about:

"Good arguments for the foolishness of religious belief?"

And my other favorite: "A chicken omelet? That's not breakfast, that's a vendetta."

My husband's homemade challah french toast, sliced thick, with cherry compote from our tree out front and thick-sliced organic bacon on the side.

Ketchup. (Or is it Catsup, or Tomato Sauce? I see a schism coming...)

Oh, ketchup on the hash browns is a must. If there isn't any ketchup, I'll take the hash browns with green pepper and onion kthnxbai.

If you're going for the full fry up you have to include mushrooms, devilled kidneys, black pudding and square sausage or you're just not trying hard enough.

Stewed, no

Fried, yes. If you like them (even if you don't you need to have them so you know you are dong the full monty)

Gutbusters rule for hangover cures. It helps the cafe in question is open all night.

Or you could go the Lemmy method: Don't sober up. Possibly not recommended.

Venison sausages. Every day of the year.

A breakfast at 3pm, at an 'all day breakfast' cafe.

Sausage, bacon, fried tomato, fried egg, black pudding, and a bit of fried bread.
Oh yes!

But Pan, I've just fell in love with the idea of venison sausages.
I want some now!
I want to worship at the shrine of venison sausages.

I used to be able to get fresh venison sausages, they were the best.

For the pure of heart, breakfast should be nothing but coffee. A little milk, cream or sugar in the coffee is OK in more liberal circles.
