View Full Version : Chicken Soup overpayment

Okay, here's somethig weird. Chicken Soup paid me twice for my dog story! I've been trying to get them to call me back since last week, but no response yet. In a perfect world, they'd say, "Oh, that was our mistake! Please, keep the money." I'm not gonna hold my breath for that, though. :D

Hey Anne,

I'd say they really liked your dog story! http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

And all best wishes to you and your family! Hope things go smoothly on Sunday and you're soon back with pics of 'our' new little one. :)

Anne, maybe you can say that you spent the money already and that they can put it towards your next accepted chicken soup story? Nah, probably not... :) Congrats! on getting that dog story in CS. It's a very hard market to crack. Guess you have a bone to pick with them now.:)

Hiya Susie,

Oops--sorry I didn't update this. The matter was cleared up quite a while ago. I finally managed to speak with someone and found out what I needed to do with the check--I wasn't sure if they'd want me to destroy it or send it back. I was just joking about thinking I'd get to keep it!

Anyway, after several phone calls and a couple of e-mails, things were straightened out. Whew. I certainly didn't want money I wasn't entitled to!

Thanks for the congrats.

Take the money and run, then tell them you never got the check and please send again...

Oops, too late. Darn.
