What are the "standard" sizes of the soft drinks (and beer) cans in the US? 12 or 16 fl oz? I mean, is any size more popular? Here's one chart for coke cans sizes (http://www.ad-informatica.com/davideandreani/Cokesize.htm) around the world.

In Europe, for example, 330 mL and 500 mL sizes are common, and 500 mL appears to be more popular, probably more in the southern countries...

The most typical (by a wide margin) is 12 fluid oz. There are smaller ones, and larger ones.

12 oz is the common one. That's what you will see stacked up in the supermarket, and what you will get when you get a can from a machine.

OK, great. True for soft drinks and beer?

Yes, but somewhat less so for beer. 16 fl. oz. cans (sometimes called "tall boys") are also common for beer. I'm not sure what the percentage is, but it seems like glass bottles are more common for beer.

Yep. 12 oz. but there are larger ones...but a can of Bud will be 12, usually.

eta agree on the glass bottles, but it can be a regional thing...in the South, I've seen more cans, but still, bottles are supreme.
