This thread reminds me of a seafood restaurant I frequent. It's a hole-in-wall place that has a roll of paper towels hanging above each table. It's a little tacky looking but functional, as you're never in need of wipes and can just reach up for more as the need arises.
As you can imagine, I never sit on the wrong side of a table where the roll is fed from under. I must be seated in such a way that the sheets are fed toward me from above, or I'll leave and go eat elsewhere.
Now the people who work there have been known to be smart alecks and will switch the roll while I'm away from the table, but I catch them every time and demand that things be set right or else I'll complain to management about their mistreatment of customers.
