Because my adult thriller, The Centerpoint, will be published by Dailey Swan Publishing in Fall, 2012, in both hard copy and ebook.

Unless the world ends, in which case it will be ebook only.

I wouldn't worry much about the Mayan calendar. It's kind of already been proven that the calendar might've been off to about...100 or more years. Don't worry, you've got lots of time. :)

Congratulations!

If your book is being published in the Fall of 2012 you are safe since the calendar doesn't end until December. And most people, in the Northern Hemisphere at least, go by the convention of winter starting earlier than the winter solstice. ;)

This is really great news. It helps encourage me to keep going. Good luck with your publication and I hope it sells tons. :)

Congratulations! I don't see any Mayans around, so I think your hard copy is safe.

Vandal, unless I get a book scheduled for Fall '12, your book and the world are safe. CGs!

I wouldn't worry much about the Mayan calendar. It's kind of already been proven that the calendar might've been off to about...100 or more years. Don't worry, you've got lots of time. :)

More to the point, the Mayan calendar 'ends' in 2012 the same way our calendar 'ends' on December 31st. Hitting December 31st doesn't mean the world ends, just that you hang up a new calendar. In fact, given the way the Mayan calendar system works, and the number of leading zeros they stuck on dates in some places, they were leaving space for a good few /million/ years beyond this.

So, even the Mayans didn't believe the world would end in 2012!

(Mind you, even if they did, why on earth would we assume they were mystically right about the date of an apocalypse, but not about anything else? If they were wiser and more in tune with the world than us, why aren't we engaging in human sacrifice to their gods still?)

Ahem. My nigh-reflexive rant on the Apocaloompas ("Oompa Loompa Doompity-Doo, we've got a panicked message for you! Oompa Loompa Doompity-Docolypse, in 2012 you'll face the Mayan Apocalypse!") aside, congratulations on the book! ;)
