A fascinating video on how books were made in the old days.
For those confused by older technology : 'Books' used to be printed out - instead of distributed as licensed content on eDevices.
I wonder what future generations will think of our publishing processes !

One thing that struck me was how gender-oriented roles were in those days. For no particular reason men did some roles and girls (their word) did others. There doesn't seem to be great logic behind it - someone typing at one machine would always be a man and the people moving the stacks of paper at the end would always be 'girls'. It was like the old computers which were always rooms full of women - no men .. computers were always women.
Fascinating!

(PS: Boing Boing made me aware of the video in the first place)
