A very talented and promising writer passed away last week in New York City. Perry Moore wrote Hero, a Lamda Award-winning novel about the adventures of a gay teenager who learns that he's a superhero.
I like superhero novels a lot, maybe because I've convinced myself that they're so much more mature than comic books.
Mr. Moore was working on a sequel, which I was looking forward to, and he seemed very genuine and positive in interviews, so I was sorry to hear of his passing.
