My novel is an original novel about superhumans (never been done before, I'm sure of it), and it is set in a pseudo-America. While it is America, drastic changes have been made.
As it is science-fiction, do I need to include in the query letter that it is a different version of our America? Or is it pretty obvious if s/he reads the excerpt?
