The other day I bought Prince's The Hits, The B-Sides 3-disc album. Not the first of his recordings I've ever bought (Diamonds and Pearls, The Black Album and Musicology being but three others).

I was inspired to rake through my -- huge -- music collection last night, and found a few Lenny Kravitz CDs. (An old friend once said that name always makes him think 'Lenny Crevice'. Personally, for me, it's 'Lenny Crabby-Bits', but never mind).

And I just can't decide which is the funkiest. Lenny's got the guitar, but Prince has the purple outfits and the stacked heels.

So which is it?

can't walk past a pair to stacked heels.

Or anyone who went through a phase known as 'the artist formerly known as...'

So I say prince!

Are You Gonna Go My Way, Rock 'n' Roll is Dead and American Woman must be played loud to fully experience the funk.

But.

Gett Off.

The defence rests.

I voted for Kravitz, because I've at least heard his music, whereas I've not heard any Prince songs as far as I know...

I probably have, but didn't know it was him. *shrug*

(LOL - Crabby-Bits)

I'm an illiterate moron.

I kinda know who Prince-the-glyph is, but don't think I'd be able to recognize any of his music. Lenny whats-it, I've never heard.

*sigh*

Off to YouTube.

Medie, you may have heard Kravitz but don't know it. He sounds more like what benbradley is linking to.

NOW THAT IS FUNK! Benbradley, you can come to my house and we will make you brownies anytime. I remember you wanted those. :) We will jam with you!
Watch out, SP can tell you--my guys get DOWN! LOL.

Of the two I think Lenny is my favorite, just because I can sing to his music. Prince is too high for me to echo properly. I like lower voices. I like the beats Kravitz has too, I'm all about a strong rhythm and good guitar. Prince never really won me over. He is good, just doesn't get my blood flowing. Jeremy likes his music more than I do.

Off to YouTube.
Surely you've heard that "We're gonna party like it's 1999" song, it was popular originally circa 1983, then again just before Y2K.

Kinda like how "Fly Me To The Moon" got played a bit in 1969 when Armstrong took a small step.

Excuse me while I write my "See You At The Singularity" song. Maybe I'll make the cover of Time Magazine too.

I said Lenny.

And ben - that 1999 song...that was my song, being that I graduated high school in 1999. :)

AW. A very nice place!
... Prince snubbed Kim Kardashian as I heard.
Being a nominal fan of hers, I didn't care much for that.
So I'll vote for Lenny.
