Any Ray Bradbury fans out there? I just picked up the Far Territories edition of 'Summer Morning, Summer Night' (couldn't afford the Subterranean Press edition :() and there's something odd on the title page. Let me show you...

It looks like the kind of thing that's meant to be there, but... I'm not sure. It's a little too perfect to be real, but I'm a little concerned at the same time because I can't see any reason for it to be there - there are no other bugs in the cover design or anything like that. Have Amazon managed to squash a fly into my book?

Looks like a cockroach to me. And real.

Scrap it off. Take a very lightly damp cloth and clean the page as best you can.

Then wash your hands. Then wash your hands again.

Put a review on Amazon: "This book really bugged me."

;-)

I just emailed Amazon. I'm not scraping it off; they can have it back, and I'll have a new book. I've advised them that "I'm fairly certain this is not an intended feature of the book" ;-)

See if there's a squashed bat on the back page.

Amazon have given me the option of a 15% refund (because the book is still usable :s) or sending it back for a full refund but no new book because it's out of stock.

I've cut the page out. It pained me to do it :'(

15% refund? How did they work out the math on that one? Were they deducting the weight of the bug from postage? Sheesh.

Ray B. fan here. I'm reading my way through One More for the Road right now.

It's a weird one isn't it? It only works out to £1.64 but that pays for a book I just bought off them so really I've got a free book out of it.

I'm working through both volumes of Stories. That should keep me occupied for a while!
