Wired has ten.

I gotta agree with the costume. I do not abide by the "keep it because it's iconic" thought. Give her pants. Or at least a skirt.
I also really want to reinforce it be an adult, or at least teen show. Don't put it on Cartoon Network or some BS like that. If we're going for sexual overtones and serious baddies then broadcasting to teenagers or adults is the way to go. Star Wars: The Clone Wars does well on CN, but it could do even better IMO, if it wasn't constrained to being a "kiddy-show." And it is a "kiddy-show," despite its heavy overtones.
I've never understood why comic adaptions are made into viewings for kid when the comics themselves, while not usually Spawn-level brutality, are hardly a nice place.

So, anything else you think the show should make sure to incorporate, do you think bringing the show back is a good/bad idea?

NBC has optioned this. So it's at least not going to be the kiddie demographic.

I think the invisible plane could even be kept if it's updated into an aircraft with a cloaking device.

Eliza Dushku.

/lock thread.

Hm... she has the right 'tude, but she seems kinda short. IMBDB has her at 5'5". I'm picturing someone in the 5'8" - 5'10" range...

As for the list, I think it's all pretty good. Especially ditching the plane.

I might watch this. I was a huge Wonder Woman fan when I was a little girl. I do think they would need to update the costume though. No sel-respecting, bad-ass warrior type chick would look like a pornstar while she fought crime. Just saying.

And I like Eliza, she is great at bad-ass, but I agree that she seems too small for the role. The article mentioned Gina Torres (from Firefly, Xena), and I think she would be great.

Hugh Jackman is WAY too freaking tall to play Wolverine. He's not just taller than the character, I mean he's TALL. He's 6'2. It is part of Wolverine's character that he is short. People underestimate him because of his height.

Is Hugh Jackman convincing in the role? That's a rhetorical question. ;)

A Wonder Woman that is not a brunette, does not rock the original costume and is played by "a skinny bitch" is not a Wonder Woman I am interested in.

Maybe it depends on who you ask. I have never read the comics, so I had no idea that Wolverine was supposed to be short.

He is. Wolverine is named for the animal that is small but ferocious. Hugh Jackman probably has at least a foot on him, but everyone loves him in that role.

An actress who has the right look and attitude, and is a great TV actress should hardly be counted out because she is a few inches too short. They can make her look taller. At the premiere of CAVE WOMEN ON MARS, people were very surprised I was so short. I'm 5'6, but I looked like an Amazon in the movie.

I do not understand what people like about the original costume, it looks stupid.
It has always looked stupid, superhero costumes in general look pretty stupid, you gotta wonder what they're thinking...
I love Wonder Woman in her animated and tv series appearances (though I was kind of so-so on her latest animated movie) but every time we got a look at something other than her face or her fists, I just had to go, "Why?! WHYYYYY?!"

I'm a huge WW fan. A new series -- or movie -- would have to work hard to win me over.

1. Although I understand the need (and desire) for an update, remember what the original WW was created for and stay true to the vision. She was not created to fight street criminals or corporate criminals. She was created to fight Nazis in what was presented as the ultimate fight between Good and Evil. I'm a bit too cynical to call the American government "ultimate Good," but keep her fight on a global scale. There's plenty of real Evil out there.

2. Update the costume, but don't abandon its roots. Lasso better be there. And the bracelets. And her whole backstory. Don't waste my time with a new backstory unrelated to the original.

3. WW should definitely kick ass, and the actress should definitely look the part. Eliza D has the body, but she was the weakest link on Dollhouse. The actress who plays Alex on the new Nikita series could pull it off.

4. I *hate* the idea of making her a normal American woman trying to balance superhero crimefighting with work and family. That has become a cliche, and it's completely unfaithful to the original. Diana Prince got a job that kept her close to Steve and plugged into the war effort. She was sexy, naive, and innocent because she had been sheltered for 2000 years.

Eliza Dushku.

All respect, but I've got to disagree on this. I always thought Dushku was the weak link on both Buffy and Dollhouse.

Especially ditching the plane.

Ditto.

No sel-respecting, bad-ass warrior type chick would look like a pornstar while she fought crime.

No argument. Having said that, Lynda Carter looked HAWT, and I don't regret a minute of my pre-pubescent ogling. One hopes a middle ground might be found.

I did my list a while back. The final requirement was 'keep it off NBC'.

Why NBC, particularly?

It has always looked stupid, superhero costumes in general look pretty stupid, you gotta wonder what they're thinking...

I think it had a lot to do with 1930s printing technology. Not a lot of detail came through, so you couldn't get who was who from looking at faces. Hence, ridiculous-yet-distinctive costumes. Also, Jack Kirby wasn't born yet.

Rather than a re-invention of Wonder Woman, as the original was a Nazi fighter, we could forward the storyline instead. Say this is Diana's grand-daughter and she's leaving Paradise Island to fight radical terrorism.

We get the best of both words. We could stick with the cannon and keep her where the fans want her to be, and yes, Linda Carter is grandma age and yes, still seriously hot and could even reprise her role somewhat. THEN and only then we could also be happy with a new outfit for the new WW, new Warrior Princess, new coolness and even have Linda Carter approve by passing her the Magic Lasso as if passing on the torch.

No need for re-inventing. Everyone should be somewhat happy.

:D

Wonder Woman history through costumes. I like the end costume.
Also to quote Chris Sims: "Capes, solid colors, very visually identifying. Wonder Woman's costume doesn't tell you anything other than that she totally loves America. She might as well have been bitten by a radioactive Betsy Ross as come from an island of immortal warrior Amazons."
I also think the bracelets should stay.
And I vote for Ashley Newbrough as the actress.

ETA: Sorry, just realized my first link is the same link as the last in the original poster's link.
