Flo Gibson, who for decades read soothingly to Americans as they toiled at the gym, behind the wheel or over housework, died on Jan. 7 at her home in Washington. Mrs. Gibson, the universally acknowledged grande dame of audiobooks, was 86.

I've listened to a few of her narrations. She had a good voice and style for certain works. I think she did a lot of Jane Austen and Bronte.

Goodbye, Flo.

I've never listened to a book on tape. It sounds like she was really good at it, and had a long productive life. RIP Flo.
