Crowd corrects and continues the anthem. (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Video-Hockey-crowd-sings-after-8-year-old-s-nat?urn=nhl-306789)

Yeah, I liked that to. It made me smile. A moment of positivity in syncronicity.

Same here. Why is it that people being utterly decent is so moving? Perhaps because we see it too seldom.

I can't believe that one woman laughed, though. WTF?

That kid should be punished for forgetting the lyrics. I mean, come on. It was her big debut, and she choked.

No more hockey crowds for her until she can learn her lines properly in the future.

Yeah that was cold, but of course she wasn't loved as a child.

Overall it was nice that people came together for something so simple but so grand :)

One other thing: Why can't we hear the girl sing in that clip after she regains her composure? Was the mike suddenly turned off? Is she just mouthing the words or was the sound later edited to drown her out to enhance a feel-good moment from the crowd?

It's hard to tell from that clip.

You're a very cynical fish. Can't you just go "awww..." like the rest of us?

That girl has a pretty decent singing voice for her age. I thought it was brave of her to try and hit some of those high notes.

Get a grip SK. She didn't forget the words, her mike went dead.

I saw this clip on TV last night and it made my day.
I always like hearing the National Anthem, and then combine it with a cute kid and a save from the crowd, and you have a sure-fire feel-good moment.
I just with I was there. :)

Heck, no. And I'm surprised no one at that game smacked the kid with a hockey stick to jog her memory. A solid cross-check might have worked.

They had her on the news tonight and she hit the lyrics and high notes perfectly...

I think it was her mic...
