I'm thrilled to announce I've just signed with Thomson-Gale Publishing for my latest novel, With Full Malice, for their 5 Star Mystery line. It's tentatively scheduled for publication March, 2012. Hooray! Hooray!

With Full Malice:
When a shortage of reporters forces traumatized restaurant reviewer Madison Young to cover an execution-style murder in her quiet California town below Big Bear, she has no idea her life is about to change. Reluctantly interviewing a witness, she jots down one word, one seemingly insignificant word that will link to a chain of murders across the country, and to a secret society, a vast and deadly organization that will stop at nothing to protect its secrets. She traces clues, shocked when they reveal a connection to the man who slaughtered her parents, horrified when the evidence leads to her own grandmother, the gentle woman who raised her after her parents were murdered.

Congratulations, Brenda! That sounds like a really intriguing premise! Our family skis Big Bear, so I'll look for your book.

Thanks, y'all. I'm still flying, haven't calmed down yet.

You ski in Big Bear, Bluestone? I never worked up the nerve to do so. I spent about twelve years in cold & snowy Minnesota, and while I learned to drive on snow, I never liked the idea of skis or skates. I'm funny that way - I like to stop when I apply brakes.

Like Bluestone, I've skied at Big Bear (grew up in the LA area). Great setting for a mystery. I'm looking forward to reading it!

Thanks again, y'all. I'm still flying. Now I feel the pressure to make the next one even better, but I'm already concerned about this one. Will people like it? I think seniors will - at least I hope so. As Phaeal mentioned, you gotta watch out for those grandmas! And as the saying goes, "Just because there's snow on the roof doesn't mean there's no fire in the furnace."

For those interested, I'll be documenting the process on the other thread - the 5 Star thread - or perhaps the mods would prefer I do so here. I recently signed the contracts, so now I'm waiting for the next step.
