Is there a standard that should be followed regarding the word count of an introduction?

The book I am working on (yep...I decided it needed to be a book after all) will run about 60,000 - 65,000 words if I stay on the same pace, but I don't know if there is a ule to follow for the length of the introduction. It just seems silly to beef it up to the size of one of my chapters which are running about 4,500 - 5,000 words.

As far as I know, there's no rule regarding the length of an intro. Chances are, it's one of the last things you'll finalize during the back-n-forthing of the editing process anyway. Just write what feels right for now.
