Anyone else a fan of Discovery Health and its programming?

Anyone else mourning the fact that in four days, the channel will cease to exist, and instead an Oprah-owned channel will hit the airwaves? Full of Oprah-approved programming?

What do you think about Oprah taking over a network and displacing an entire schedule of shows so the world can have more Dr. Phil?

That's too bad! I enjoyed Discovery Health channel. I rarely watch TV anymore, but it was one of my favorites.

As for Oprah, that's okay. And I like Dr. Phil.

No, I'm glad.

Being susceptible to auto-suggestion and hypochondria, it runs in the family, I suffer from every ailment under the sun.

In fact, I chucked smoking because it was damaging my ovaries. All three of them.

At this rate, I might well be Oprah's next special guest. A man who can't give birth! :D Or should that be... :evil

Regards, with a chuckle,

This blows. Screw Oprah and her stupid channel.

It's no coincidence she named it OWN instead of The Oprah Network, which would have yielded a much funnier acronym.

Hmm. Didn't even know there was a Discovery Health.

I liked Discovery Health as well. Why the hell couldn't Oprah just started a new channel, rather than buying one that already had its own audience? :(

I really enjoyed some shows on Discovery Health. So much network tv is crap, so I watch more on cable. Why does Oprah want to take over the world? Nothing against her personally, but I wish she would just go away.

Because having her own television show just wasn't enough. She had to have her own network. I won't be watching it.

While I rarely watched Discovery Health it has to be better than OWN.

She already has Oxygen but I guess being the attention whore that she is, it's not enough.

Oprah owns Oxygen? Holy molly, do plants have to pay royalties or something?

I don't have TV, but when I go on the road for business, I love to hunker down in front of Discovery Health. What a disturbing sign of the times.

When it comes to health information, Winfrey doesn't have the best record. (I'm not going to call her by her first name, as if we were acquaintances.) She's provided a platform for anti-vaccination nuts like Jenny McCarthy, and even promoted a faith-healer conman. So she's part of the problem.
