yay! This means it's my half-birthday! I was born on the Winter solstice (Southern Hemisphere, so Midsummer Solstice in the Northern Hem).

I like the candle :D

I'm just hoping I don't sleep through the entire lunar eclipse tomorrow morning. I won't be around when this happens again.

I'm not sure the Southern Hemisphere will get the eclipse... I don't know for sure, of course...

But last night was a full moon, and now today is the 21st Down Under. Hooray for the Solstice!

Of course, I'd much prefer the one in June for the Down Under Winter... I'm a winter person. ;)

Enjoy your Solstice, Nothern Hemisphereans! And send some cold thoughts down here. Brrrr...

I have plans with my friends (and sis-in-law) to sacrifice a snowman on our balcony to the growing light. Looking forward to it, even as I watch the blowing snow right now.

I got the full lunar eclipse (and dinner and drinks and stories with James Crumley) back on my birthday in '08. If only it'd been the solstice, too!

Or at least Armistice Day, or something. :partyguy:

Couldn't see the eclipse here either, dang clouds!

Happy Solstice! Today I think I'll winter sow some seeds in celebration.

oooo dat's purdy!

You know, with the small circle down the bottom and the dark patchy circle top right, it looks kind of like an unfinished Death Star.

The moon's gonna kill us all!!! *freaks out*

I wish I could've taken a picture of the eclipse. Sadly, 12am just HAD to be the time I lost my camera. I'll just have to cherish the memory of that beautiful blood moon. ^_^

Cool pic Kelly. Spooky, bloody, beautiful moon. (That pic would make a good book cover actually...maybe for another Twilight book? heh, heh, heh)
