Suddenly, I'm so in-tune to others' body languages!
This sounds like no big deal, but I'm watching this movie Spy Games. It's almost over, actually. And suddenly, every actors' movement is almost in slow motion. My writing brain is taking note of every stroke of the chin, tilt of the head, raise of the eyebrows...every time someone swivels in his chair or blinks his eyes or frowns slightly enough for the tiniest lines to appear...
As writers, we're always trying to show by explaining to the reader facial expressions, bodily movements, tone of voice, surroundings...
I've known how important it is as a writer to be in sync with other people - their reactions, the way their thoughts read upon their faces, etc....to observe.
And suddenly, it's all I can do!
