by Brenda Lee was just playing on the radio and I got up from my desk (at work) and did a little happy dance.:snoopy:

That song really says: "Christmas" to me - I absolutely lurve it - It's so upbeat and funky and timeless.

Ok, here comes the question...

So what Christmas song (secular or hymn) says: It's Christmas to you?

I like that really serious sounding instrumental one they always play on the radio...it's almost like "Everybody freak out! It's Christmas! Run for your lives!"

yeah... I like that one...:)

"I'm only a poor little fairy,
Stuck on the top of the tree,
They switched on the lights,
and bang went my tights,
And my legs fell off, one two three"...

Oh, and I Believe in Father Christmas. I like that one.

I'm a huge fan of Mariah Carey "All I Want For Christmas."

I also love Amy Grant's "Breath of Heaven."

The All Christmas Music radio station just played Porky Pig singing Blue Christmas.

Somebody kill me now.

I've got a Christmas album by Chris Trapper that I adore. Not the same songs revised, but new ones. :)

I used to really love Carol of the Bells, but I've heard it SOOOOO many times now that while I still like it, I want to stay away from it because I've heard it so much.

Hmmm... Bing's White Christmas is sweet.

Oh, I forgot River by Joni Mitchell. I love that one too.

I like very traditional songs: Carol of the Bells, O Holy Night, The Hallelujah Chorus, Silent Night,

And I love my Harry Connick Jr. Christmas C.D. My husband used to hate Christmas music and I got him listening to this, now he can tolerate it all.

Sir Clifford de Richard's O Little Town is a goodie. And I quite like Shakin' Stevens Merry Christmas Everyone too. Every home should have it.

Carol of the Bells is probably the only Christmas song I can stand to listen to. All the others I've heard many times and just can't bear to listen to them any longer.

I don't know what it was, but there was this really upbeat jazzy-sort of song playing at the shopping centre yesterday in amongst the Christmas music.

So I nominate that one.

It didn't make me want to cover my ears and run headfirst into the nearest wall. :)

Any Christmas songs sung by Elvis does it for me.

I also like Rocking around the clock and Jingle Bells by Brenda Lee, O Holy Night and White Christmas by Martina McBride.

"O Holy Night", 11pm Christmas service, candlelight and Communion.

What Child Is This?, which I never hear anywhere but at home.

Though my favoritest Christmas song is one I also only hear at home: Alvin & the Chipmucks' rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas. It's a childhood favorite.

I have a severely limited tolerance of Christmas music, though. I'm already sick to death of it.

Oh, Jonny Mathis - When A Child Is Born.

Brings tears to a glass eye.

Goosebump city at around 2:40 and the dissonance at the end will send a lovely shiver up your spine.

Bruce Springsteen's live version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town".

Don't ask me why, because I'm not a huge fan of hers or anything, but I've always liked this song...

I agree. ^

She also does an amazing version of Oh, Holy Night - Amazing!
