As I made the turn into the cul-de-sac on my way home from work yesterday, I saw Christmas Lights on my neighbor's house. :rant:

That's right, you heard me - Fully-lit, Christmas Lights.

You know the ones that look like icicles? Yep. Those.

Lights are popping up all over my neighbourhood. I might put mine up this weekend. I didn't have a Christmas last year...I'm looking forward to it. Besides, I hate putting the lights up when it's FREEZING COLD!

I tried, but I tripped over the pink flamingoes and garden gnomes that were "decorating" the yard and dropped the gas can.

At that point, the motion-sensitive, singing, fish plaque started up, and I just walked back up the street while whistling The Sun Will come Out, Tomorrow. :Shrug:

sweetie. i'm on equal billing. the electric bill is the same price every month. i have it come out automatically, anyway. i don't even know how much it is.

The next town over has some of the most Clark W. Griswold-y houses ever. I swear they can be seen from space. These people start decorating as soon as the Halloween decorations come down, and leave them up until Valentine's Day.

I love Christmas Lights. I wish every house could have them up all the time. I kept my mini-tree on my desk at work, fully-decorated, all year.

We don't do Christmas lights. Most years we're lucky to get the tree up.

To me, the best Christmas light is the smooth brown glow of a 40W bulb seen through a bottle of scotch.
