If they don't include the climactic fist fight between Thursday Next and Acheron Hades on the roof of the manor house, then I'm not watching it.

I hate that book so damn much it makes me want to swallow my own head just so I don't have to know it exists.

See, now I got all excited that the movie was "The Eyre Affair."

Love a good version of this. My fave is the one with Cieren Hinds, a great Mr. Rochester. I look forward to seeing this one, with hopes it will be one of the better ones.

Fangirl squeeing at ten paces--loudest wins?

ETA: I've only seen him in a James Bond movie, but he has the right look for Mr. Rochester.

Wait. Wait. Wait. You've never seen the version with Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens??? (fan trailer -- couldn't find an official one)

I just watched the fan trailer before I added the ETA above. :) Dalton and Zelah Clarke spoiled me for any other version. I saw most of the Ciaran Hinds/Samantha Morton one (meh) and the Charlotte Gainsburgh/William Hurt one (poor casting). And don't get me started on Orson Wells/Joan Fontaine (Jane is a strong woman and Fontaine played her as a doormat--and the butchering of the story--augh!). I only saw part of the George C Scott/Susannah York one--I disagreed with how they played the characters. And I'm not a real Scott fan.

Can you tell I loved this book from middle school through college? :tongue

I actually haven't been able to bring myself to watch any other version. It was the first I saw and I fell so hard for it that I immediately bought and read the book (something I'd never had any desire to do).
