Anyone miss these little monkeys dearly? I grew up on them and I'm watching some episodes, brings back good memories of childhood. But now I realise how smart and witty these cartoons were, I just cannot believe it. They're incredible.

Anyone miss them?
Anyone here grew up with them like me?

Here's one of my all time favourites

Yes, I love them. I was out in public the other day and this guy got up and sang the Animaniacs' Nations of the World song, and I felt very nostalgic.

Pinky and the Brain were the best though.

What are we going to to do tonight Brain?

Same thing we do every night. Take over the world!

Bubba Bo Bob Brain was my fave.

Oh good. My kids were starting to think I made up that episode. LOL!

My kids grew up on the Animaniacs. The soundtracks are still mandatory playing during any lengthy (longer than 20 minutes) car trip. We all had a different character that we (tried to) sing.

Yeah, great memories.

Mostly only remember the Pinky and the Brain segments. Were those three pigeons [the good feathers I think?] in it as well?

My favorite cartoon from my childhood, next to The Simpsons.

The wit and artistry--they just don't make 'em like they used to. Modern cartoon humor seems to be all about shock value. Zzz.

My husband is a big fan; he's buying them for our girls, season by season. They LOVE them. They've watched them so many times they have whole episodes memorized.

Plus of course all of the songs. We have the soundtrack too (I think we had to buy it used because it's out of print) and the first time we played it in the car we were amazed; not only did the girls know all the words to the songs, but they each sang different parts/harmonies. It was incredible!

It was a truly brilliant show. Modern cartoons are alright, but nothing like the ones I grew up on.

Yeah. It's like all the good cartoons were in my childhood.

And yes, I have gone back, and actually WATCHED them again, and I've enjoyed them far more because of the layers of jokes and references they put into them.

This stands for the Animaniacs, Tiny Toons and my personal favorite, Captain Simian and the Space Monkies.

Course, I'm sure there are great shows out now a days. They just don't get any press, because good shows always seem to be recognized long after they've been sadly canceled.

Still remember the theme song.

Also:

"No matter what I say, the monkeys won't do. No matter what I say, the monkeys won't do..."

"Shave your head and spray paint it lavender for $19.95!"

"And now for Dot's Poetry Corner..."

Slappy Squirrel, Rita the Cat, Mr. Skull Head, Chicken Boo...

Love the one where they screw with Rasputin.

And wow, Pinky is the poster child for ADD. "Yeah, I think so Brain, but this time, you wear the tutu." Zort!

Brain was never positive enough, instead of "try to take over the world!" he should have said, "we will take over the world!"
