Why is an ice-cold original coca-cola in a glass bottle so friggin' good? Why is it better than any other coke, any other way?* Why is it better than any other soda, any other way?

Why?

It's a mystery...

*You think I'm kidding? Get thee a glass bottle of coke (16 oz or 8 oz are best) and the same stuff in a can, or a plastic bottle, or a two liter bottle, or from a fountain. Compare.

I hear ya,

I think the plastic or the aluminum distorts the taste.

Are you talking those glass bottles in the Mexican food aisle?

It's because Mexican Coke uses real sugar, not corn syrup like it's American counterpart.

Yes..yes...the glass makes it good (keeps it colder and doesn't interfere with the taste) and the sugar makes it even better.

All sodas taste better in glass bottles. It is the single known truth in the universe.

No, it's not.

Fibrocystic breasts. Caffeine makes them hurt.

I love Coke but I can't drink it anymore.

You mean caffeine in general? As in no coffee? No black tea? No choco-covered espresso beans?

You just revealed my worst compound diagnosis. Fibrocystic breasts and diabetes. I wouldn't be able to cope.

ETA: Don't they still make a decaf version? I know...not the same.

That is just awful. I would die without caffeine, it is my one addiction.

And I agree, coke in the bottle, so much better. I can drink it in a can, and usually do. But the big plastic bottles, no way. And on tap? Too watered down.

Yes, it's the caffeine no matter what it's in. I'm not supposed to drink coffee either.

Decaf exists, of course, but I have heard that it's not totally devoid of caffeine. What I try to do is drink coffee in moderation, decaf if possible.

But a total day of drinking Coke and coffee and throw in some chocolate and...

Man. I'd be sore as hell!

I like Coke in glass bottles. ^_^ Can't stand drinking it from a can as it doesn't stay cold long enough and makes me burp even more. I prefer it in a glass.

And I like Pepsi too. >.>

My mom never gave me and my sister soft drinks when we were kids, and I don't "get" Coke at all. People who drink it in cold weather seem particularly odd to me.

We were poor, so my mom would buy gallon jugs of soda "syrup" then add water to it, essentially making flat soda.

And I'm that way about ice cream. Can't understand people who eat it in winter.

Man, I love coke. It's my one addiction. It will put a hole in my stomach one day, and I will die happy. :D

I've only had coke in a glass bottle once before, when I was really young. That was back when I thought coke and pepsi tasted the same, so I can't really say if it was any better.
